Otterbox customization..

I have had my S3 and Otterbox Commuter case for 3 weeks now, and last week I decided that my Otterbox looked too plain for me.. So, I took to the hard shell with some orange spray paint, and I must say, it's awesome! The bright orange really contrasts well with the black of the silicone, and I am just overall really proud of it.. I tried looking online for other Otterbox cases that had been customized, and have come up empty.. My question is, are there more people out there that have done the same? If so, I'd be interested in seeing some pics of them!

Fantastic idea!
If I keep my Commuter I will do the same. I find alot of chargers won't fit into my phone with the commuter on..

Thanks! I found the paint at WalMart for 4 bucks, if I remember right.. I didn't sand the plastic or anything before painting, and I just did light coats once an hour, a total of three coats of orange.. I had found some clear coat that was left over from another project and on a whim, put one coat of that on top, and it really made it pop! I also applied a heat lamp with a small bulb about a foot away from it for about 90 minutes, after the third coat of orange as well as the clear coat.. If you do go the heat lamp route, I'd suggest checking on it every 15 minutes or so, making sure the plastic isn't getting TOO hot.. After the last round with heat lamp, I let it set in the shop for another 36 hours to harden with time.. If anyone else decides to give it a try, please post pics!

Before you paint clean it with some white vinegar mixed with a little water, the vinegar acts as a primer while it cleans off the plastic. I did this to my shutters on the house 6 years ago and the paint still looks like they were bought that way. I changed them from green to black with Rustoleum Plastic Paint.

That's sexy..I love the color orange, and I feel the same about your case.

The paint is holding up great! I actually did some more work this past weekend to it to add grip to the case, not sure if I'm finished with it just yet..
