Phone wont turn back on after upgrading problems

I was listening to music on my S3 as I was passing by a house I connected to the wifi and my phone shut off and started a android upgrade but my phone died during the upgrade as I didn't have a charger and was at work. My phone will not turn on fully it keeps asking for it to be connected to Kies for a firmware upgrade, I start the upgrade follow all instructions but it just keeps looping back to asking me to connect and start the upgrade again and wont go any further. It displays "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I have followed all instructions repeatedly and cannot get it to fully restore.
If anyone could help get past this so I can use my phone again that would be really great!!
