Home button and touch buttons not working after 2 ft drop

I dropped my SIII Mini from about two feet and when I picked it up, the power, home, menu and back buttons weren?t working. I pulled the battery and then the power button started working. I turned it back on and my phone was functioning perfectly - except for the bottom buttons. Whenever I accidentally press the home button, my phone heats up really quickly. I?ve opened up the back and made sure the connectors were in place. Could it be a short circuit? What can I do about this?
