Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
I'd get it in a heartbeat if it lasted that long. But seeing as how the gsii can only last about 4 hours they'd need to get the battery into the 3000+ mah area for there to be a chance of 8+ hours. So seeing as how they're going to be making the screen bigger and increase dpi/resolution... not too confident this is going to deliver in terms of battery life. Maybe they'll optimize the screen somehow. Maybe the cpu optimizations will be enough.
Worst case scenario is we get only 4 hours or less. Best case scenario is samsung throws in some magic and gets us 10+ hours
A little too hopeful but that's just because I really want this phone

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
In light of the recent Kies software GS 3 spot, I am really considering that the GT-i9300 (and T model) will in fact be the next iteration in the Galaxy S line and Samsung's next truly flagship device (GT-i9800 possibly) will be named something else entirely. Why go through all the secrecy and hype of releasing your "next" premier phone, only to blatantly display it through your own software a week early?

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
I sure as hell hope so, but it's looking doubtful. (I'm just speaking out of my a$$ here but...) The A15 looks to be as big of a jump over the 4412 as the jump from last years Exynos to the 4412. I've really, really got my fingers crossed. Hopefully we get Exynos period in the U.S.
If we end up with the Super AMOLED instead of the SAMOLED+, I might just stay with the EVO line this time...

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
Did anybody else see THIS? The A15 is still in the sampling phase...not ready to ship in devices yet. I bet one of the first things we see the A15 in is a Win8 tablet.

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
Just did, and it makes sense, honestly. It's a good chip, but I was hoping to be blown away like with last year's Exynos. Honestly, paired with Sammy's good design, a big battery and a SAMOLED+ (hoping it can stand at least toe to toe with the SLCD2), should be a nice phone. Once again, I'm sure Sprint will tweak something for the better like they've done before. Part of the S2's prowess was not only what was under the hood, but also Sammy's incredible software optimization - it really set it apart from the pack, imo. Hope that continues.
My source was right about everything else thus far though... Granted he hasn't responded to me in a while. Maybe he heard U.S. was getting the A15 dual core and immediately thought Exynos, as opposed to Krait... that would make sense. Honestly, don't care much about his explanation at this point, I just wanna see the device be unveiled. I'm pretty confident it'll leak at least somewhat before May 3rd. - 04-26-2012, 11:16 AM #122

Yeah, we might see the Quad core 5 series with Mali T658 in the Galaxy SIV at this point. Maybe that'll see an April 2013 launch?

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
I guess I'll be fine with the S4. I mean, after all, as long as it plays all the fancy games perfectly and we have a smooth UI, it almost doesn't matter what's under the hood. Technically speaking, the S4 is more advanced, going to have to do some reading on the 225. The reviews of the AT&T One X should be pretty revealing since it will run the same resolution as the GS3 while the One S is only running at qhd.

Re: Rumor: Specs blowout and release info
The Adreno 225 isn't slow at all, but it's also not a Mali or high-end PowerVR either. It can stream 1080p at 60fps I believe, so what more do you want?
