Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
Do you have a link?
For me, the only thing I hate about the SIII is the silly button on its face and it's plasticky looks (and this is coming from a GN owner, so yeah). The HTC One X, for me, looks perfect.
I know that's superficial, but really, that's what it comes down to. I root/flash, so I can care less about Sense's weird multi-tasking or the fact that touchwhiz, for some reason, places the launcher on the right side of the home screen. That stuff will be gone for me; I care about design, power, and the ability for me to get in there and do work. Thus, that button really, really grinds my gears.Former moderator & advisor.

Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
Oh I understand that; I just prefer the sleeker, more unassuming matte finish of the One X than the somewhat garish (to me), over the top, Elton John-esque design of the SIII. The first time I saw it I was reminded of those terrible phone cases one would buy at mall kiosks circa 2004.

AGREED!
but it is also important to consider what the phone looks like IN PERSON.(if the looks matter to you)
Maybe the same material, but they do use a different finishing process. May affect the looks. Apparently the One X, the white version specifically, is susceptible to staining.
Honestly, I will wait to see BOTH in person before I judge on looks. Really only determines if I put my new SGSIII in a case or not! - 05-25-2012, 09:16 AM #333

Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
I love the look of the s3. When i look at pictures of it, especially the blue one it gives me goose pimples. I stare at it trying to really find some thing to hate about it taking into consideration what others have said about it looking plastickey and cheap. But i just love the design!!. I think its sad that other people cannot accept that all of us are not alike and i may like something the other guy may not. I dont like the look of the one x but im not gonna go around bashing it

Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
I own an HTC one X ATT, I wanted to love it and gave it a good run, but HTC truly wrecked it. Its unbelievable how many problems there are with this phone. The button hardware design is awful, it doesn't multi task, almost all the units have horrible data issues (with two units I traded out and two sim cards a piece and we couldn't fix it). About 25% of the time my texts bounce due to the radio management software. I'm so disappointed, great camera, great display tho...
I placed my SG3 order today on expansys, sadly my HTC is going back - 05-25-2012, 11:01 PM #342
Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
I will agree with this. I own one and no matter what anyone says around here, the HOX simply does not multitask at all. I've tried numerous ones at a number of different stores and they all suck at it. There is almost no way that the GSIII is not a better phone. Anyone who thinks I'm exaggerating can go to an at&t store and see for themselves. The GSIII can't get here soon enough.

Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
Believe me I wanted to love that HTC One X, the screen and device is awesome to look at and the camera rules, but at the end of the day you can't have ALL these software issues and ship a unit like this. The HTC forum has nothing but complaints and I've never seen a page with it that bad before. The multitasking issue has become a huge liability for HTC and they said they would fix it, but why release it with such a glaring issue. Its like a bad meal at a restaurant, you'll never go back. This is a huge nail for them on the heels of the SG3, especially if the SG3 is a more polished device on release and it probably will be. Such a shame too, I liked the sense overlay and while mine didn't crash many people are complaining its crashing on them. The data connection problem did it for me, While my nexus had data issues it wasn't no where NEAR as bad as this product...this is three fold... data, wifi AND bluetooth issues and its not contained....its widespread. Four of my friends got them and all four took them back and went back to there skyrocket and iphones....imagine that

About the multi tasking....
I find I do it alot, most times on accident. Whether it's hitting the capacitive keys by mistake, the screen locking. Sometimes I just have to do something else. Like answer the phone.
For me it would be a headache. Like using this app i'm typing in.....I like that I can come back and my incomplete post is still waiting for me. At the same time one forum has an app that doesn't do that.
Some of us might use multi tasking without really knowing it.
And I absolutely love multi tasking on my Vita. Leaving a game where it is and being able to come exactly back to where I left off is beautiful.

Re: It is obvious that the HTC One X is a better phone than the S
one x is mostly hype, i rather have evo lte over one x. only reason one x is getting hype because it is the only new highend out now in u.s. other than evo lte, which is not really getting its praise. s3 not even here yet and is talked about more than both. ppl got their one x but instead of hearing about its functions or something new it does, all you here is samsung hate talk. hell you shoulda held out for the true beast ha! wait for the vs videos. one x owners will be sick, trading in their phones for the s3.

It's all personal preference. That said, the energy efficiency of the One XL on AT&T is a particularly appealing aspect of that device. The S4 is really well thought out from an architectural perspective in my humble opinion.
