    Default Keeping the screen off?

How does one tell the SIII to NOT turn the screen on every time I get a text or an email and so on?

Sounds dumb but Id rather it just stay off! Thanks!

What text messaging app are you using? When you ask a question sometimes people won't reply/respond if you're not specific

I saw a thread about this several days ago and on a video I believe, keep looking I'm nearly certain there's an easy fix (considering you're on the stock app)

Mine doesn't turn of for an email, just a sms/mms. Would be nice to figure out a way to keep it off though.

While this is not exactly on point. I use K-9 Mail for email and Handcent for txting, both of which allow for notifications without turning on the screen. Handcent even allows to have a popup message/reply window without turning on the screen proper.

Bump for an answer. I would hate to be sleeping and have to deal with a bright screen next to my bed on the nightstand.

Also wouldn't mind an answer. I turn notifications off at night so that doesn't happen.
