Default Using Car Charger for Other Phone

    Hi all -

I've got a car charger for my old Palm Pre (OEM Palm one), which is the typical USB/Micro USB cable.

Can I use this charger to charge my SIII? Is it safe to do so? Has anyone done it? I'm afraid to plug it in!

I have yet to use my pfficial samsung charger for anything. I had a blackberry home and car charger and have been using both without any issues.

Just fyi, my Skyrocket had to be serviced to fix charging issue. Do not recommend using chargers from other phones.
Should work but may damage phone in the long term.

I only use OEM car chargers. The recent new story in the UK was thought to be a result of using a charger not designed for the phone. Just because the micro USB fits doesn't make it alright to use.

Well, both my Samsung and Palm wall charger bricks have an output of 5V 1.0A, which tells me it's just fine. Palm car charger shows 5V 1.0A as well.

Does anyone have the OEM Samsung car charger for the SIII that can tell me what it shows for output current??
