Is is possible to change the background color of the GMAIL app? The black color just makes it too hard to read the font sometimes. I wish to change it to white or at least a lighter color etc.

I don't think you can customize the Gmail app specifically, but there is a setting/widget that uses negative colors for the entire phone for better visibility, you may want to give that a try.

Maybe you can use an app like Tasker to script using the negative colors widget upon opening Gmail and then reverse it afterwards? Just a thought.

I know you can online...Not sure about on the app itself. Maybe 3rd party app?

Thank you for suggestions. Will definitely look into the widget idea, or if not another email program without such limiting options.
