SIII Home Button Issue
1st post here.
Have had the SGSIII from ATT for 2 days now. I really like the phone. I didn't notice it at first, but now when I look at my home button, I realize that the button is not perfectly even in that the top right corner is higher up than the left side of the button.
The very, very small gap between the button and the rest of the phone is noticeable on the right side of the button, but on the left side - the button and the rest of the phone are basically touching.
Every so often, when I hit the button I will actually hear a click sound but only if I hit it on the right side. If I hit the left side, it barely depresses (because it is already further down than the right side).
Anyone else have this "issue"? Is this something I could take the phone back to ATT and have them replace it with a new one? I know it is very minor, but I am OCD about things not being symmetrical. - 07-07-2012, 02:38 PM #2

Re: SIII Home Button Issue
My button is the same way but it does not interfere with functionality. Although Sprint is sending me another phone that will be here on Monday because my battery cover does not snap on all the teeth. The housing on my phone is defective in this area. There is bound to be a lemon now and then. I figure for all the money I spend that the phone should be perfect out of the box.

Will AT&T charge me the $35 restocking fee?
I don't think I should have to pay that for an error that came with the phone. I just hope they don't say "well you've had it for a week now, bla bla." Thoughts? If that does happen, can I call AT&T customer service and bring up the issue with them?
Worse comes to worst, I guess I can return it at AT&T and pay the $35 restocking fee, then buy it at Target/Walmart for $50 less (so I'd actually save $15 in the long run). - 07-09-2012, 09:42 AM #7
