Is there an OEM Samsung extended batttery? It's 4PM here and my battery life is down to 25%. First day with the S3.

I can't comment on an OEM extended battery.

However, did you apply the latest Samsung update? It significantly improved my battery life.

Give it a few days then you should get better results.

4.0.4 is the latest version of ICS.

Samsung pushed out an update that only claimed to have "Google Security Fixes" in it, but I noticed a substantial increase in battery life, mobile network connectivity and wireless connectivity.

I am not sure if Verizon pushes their updates differently than Sprint.

Attached is a screenshot that displays the latest version. Note the July 4th date under Kernel version.

According to , we may be getting another update that will remove universal search.

When trying to do a search after I updated a few days ago, I noticed it no longer returns Contacts, Apps, etc. Only Google searches after long pressing the menu button.

I am not sure, but I think the update I got a few days ago may have removed the function, but I could be wrong.

Fellow Android Army: Am I correct or incorrect about the update from a few days ago removing Universal Search?

Thanks for the info. Here's my screenshot. I guess I'm running a version old. I check software update once a day and nothing comes up.

the phone and battery need a few days to settle down...on day one, you're downloading stuff and doing all sorts of things with the phone...data traffic is pretty high and that naturally impacts battery life

    have fun with your GS3

I got two additional oem batteries with thier iwn chargibg docks. A bit expensive, but i could use the phone with everything on, in full brightness, streaming videos from 3g for 27hours straight. Best investment for this horse of a phone.

I too bought the spare battery and charger, and when the prices drop a little more I'll get one more battery. Well worth the peace of mind.

After running my battery down twice it has lasted a lot longer. It's been on over 8 hours and at 26% after using slacker for 3 hours, quite a bit of internet browsing and watching The Dark Knight. I'm pretty surprised it's still going. It was a boring night at work. I have no doubt it will last a whole day of normal use, if not more.

Keep in mind if you're anything like me, on my first day with my S3(Granted I got mine mid day), I was glued to it for the duration of the day. After a while your usage will probably drop back down to normal, and battery life will be better.

Concur with this. I did the same thing. Always have a spare, fully charged battery with me, just in case. I feel sorry for Apple and HOX owners. I love being able to replace the battery and add more storage via sd card.

do you guys recommend a charger? i have the seidio multi-function charger for my Incredible, but it doesn't look like Seidio is making a gs3 one. i dunno why not.

Can i trust the cheap chargers on ebay? i have an OEM spare battery, but not a charger. Which one do you guys have? Or is there another phone w/ the same size batterY?

What could happen if I got a cheap cheap charger on ebay?
