How to merge/match contacts in TouchWiz

Coming over to the GS3 from a HTC Thunderbolt. On the TBolt, after importing all of my contacts, I would get the pop ups to link contacts together. So far, that hasn't happened on the GS3 and wondering if that was a Sense specific feature or if there is some way to do it in TouchWiz.

I have seen there is the option to do it on a edit per contact basis, but I have thousands of contacts and would prefer something that would sort through them all instead of having to do each one manually.

Is there a function in TouchWiz that does the same thing that Sense did? Thanks!

you can go into gmail contacts and merge the contacts in there. it autosyncs to your GS3

if you want to merge contacts from other emails, FB, twitter and Skype etc to your existing gmail contacts, its still a painfully manual exercise
