Default If I call AT&T to order a micro sim for my GAlaxy s3...

...will that alert AT&T that I'm not using one of their phones? With the Galaxy S2 (and a few previous phones), Ive just slipped the old mini-sim out of the old phone and into the new. This time, of course, I can't do that because the mini-sim ts too large for a micro-sim slot. I'd rather not have to hack it up (literally) and would prefer a new blank mcro I could activate myself, but, short of that, I could order a replacement sim, but I'm afraid they'll ask me why I want a micro instead of a mini.

    What are my alternatives?

    Thanks,
    sfrrr

They will give you one. Your probably gonna have to pay for it though. I cant remember how much they charged me last year when I tried the iPhone. I think it was twenty something for some setup fee or something. Also I went right in the store and got it.

If you go in the store they won't really ask you any questions, and if they do, they wouldn't care really... they'll just give it to you or make you pay, depends on the store... customer care over the phone is so damn nosey

This. It just depends on the store. When I gave my friend my old iphone 4 (I went to android and he had a 3g iphone) he went to att and asked for a new sim. Since he is the owner of the account they set it up for free. Just depends on the person in the store.

Why would they care what phone you're using? You're already paying for services. At best they'll make you pay for a sim. Or you could always just get a sim cutter and cut your current sim...

Which he already stated he didn't want to do.

Maybe I don't understand the English language well, where did he state he didn't want to or wasn't willing to pay for a sim if it came down to it?

I went to the nearest AT&T store, asked for a new microSIM card, got great service, and was out of there in 5 minutes. They did cut down (or maybe just confiscated) my old SIM,bit that doesn't bother me because I have a mini SIM adapter.

So, thanks again for the help, everbody.

I think ScandaLeX was referring to cutting the mini-sim down to micro-sim size.

Just buy a cutter for $6 and cut it down. The cutters come with adapters.
