Facebook app data usage

hey guys,

The Facebook app is great but I have a limited data plan and each time i refresh my news feed it consumes 1.5 MB is it normal ?!?! please can anyone see his data usage concerning this problem and is there a fix for this ?

I think it depends on what is on your wall. If there is a lot of photos and stuff it possibly could use a good amount of data.

Also how much do you have on your data plan? Do you use it all normally?

I'm a new android user, I had a blackberry and used to consume 300 MB out of 500. But even if I have photos I don't think its normal...can anyone try how much the Facebook app consumes per refresh ?

My Facebook was at 4MB. I logged in and let my wall load (which has a lot of pictures) and now I'm at 7.3 MB.

They changed Facebook to load those pictures automatically now or whatever.. I know it didn't used to be like that so maybe that's when you had your BB.

dont wana make anyone cry but im getting UNLIMITED internet, 300minutes + 3000txts for £15 per month (think thats like $22 or something) sorry

....although i had to buy the phone + we dont get 4g so i only get like 8mb/s download but US data prices seem terrible. i hope google start their own network with free data for android users :-)

3GB, Free txts and $700 credit for $59 so I no care what fb consumers. I used to have 500mb and it lasted a month with fb, news reading and emails.

I have the Facebook app but I don't use it.
I use friendcaster pro.

I have 3GB to use, and I don't even get to use half of it....

How u like friendcaster??? Whats so diff from the actual facebook app??

dont think there will ever be a perfect fb app. they should start again + design it from the ground up

I just does facebook much better, and looks better... and I actually can sync only the contacts in my phone and not all the thousands of Facebook friends I have. It gives push notifications... which I like because of the Facebook groups I use daily... you can share others photos from it.

I paid for the pro version way back when... the free version doesn't work as well of course

The notifications are much more reliable although the regular fb app is getting better

can font size be set on friendcaster yet? especialy for the pop-ups?

I used the free Friendcaster app on my Galaxy Tab and had it on my phone its good but a bit buggy also cant figure out how to share pics without reuploading them and cant delete posts you can only filter out apps or users.

back on topic, just turn your refresh frequency to never and it only refreshes when you want it too.
