Emoji smileys with stock messaging app?
Is there a way to do this without having to use go SMS or hand cent?

So that how it works... I never could figure it out. But, then again, I've been using Handcent for years and never really tried too hard because I'm using their plugin.

Well this one girl I was going out with had an iphone and i got tired of seen little boxes in messages from her. Back then I had the gs2 and was using hand cent. I finally figured out that the emoji plug in would let me see her smilies. Those boxes I was seeing were mostly hearts and kissy lips. If I would have seen those earlier things may now be different between me and her... Aw well. Damn she was hot too!

Handcent let's you send and see emojis. You just have to download the plug in. If you're on different carriers it may not work as well in terms of sending. But generally it works fine.

The Handcent SMS emoji plugin allows me to send and receive emojis to and from my girlfriend's iPhone 4. We're both on Verizon, but I don't think it's carrier-specific.

Re: Emoji smileys with stock messaging app?
I don't understand why the stock messaging app doesn't allow you to send the emojis but your able to see receive them android style.. I am using jellybean and I noticed I am getting emojis but they are the droid versions. The puzzling thing is that the stock messaging app doesn't allow you to send them but ur able to receive them... Also why doesn't the stockk messaging app know how to properly use group SMS? I am forced to use a 3rd party -handscent & group plugin from handscent to properly use the group sms. For folks that dont know what i mean reference iOS group SMS or 3rd Parties.

Re: Emoji smileys with stock messaging app?
the android things are more smileys:
etc than emoji. think emoji are more complex and use chinese symbols or something

Re: Emoji smileys with stock messaging app?
when ip users send emojis over to me via txt message I am able to see them (through stock message app) but they are android version of it. I am not refering to the basic smileys . For an example the whale , strawberry, lipstick . These I get on the stock but I am not able to send them or have an option. So i guess 3rd party apps is the only thing to use even after Jellybean????
