Default Notification & ringtone sound issues

I have the sprint s3. I'm using default ringtones/notification sounds. When i receive calls and/or notifications it's doing two different things.

When i get a call the ringtone come through at about half volume for about 1-2 seconds then goes to the actual set ringtone volume i have it set for.

When i get a notification the sound (whistle) alerts me but gets cut off. You only hear about a quarter of the sound.

Everything is updated, reset phone, tried different ringers etc. Same result

    Any thoughts?

I've seen a few other threads on this issue too. The thing that fixed it for me is turning off the auto delete feature in messaging. I guess when it's full it deletes while making the notification and cuts it short. After turning off auto delete in message settings I haven't had that problem once. Give it a try and let me know if it helps.
