    Default Lookout?

Does anyone use lookout? I read that it drains battery.

Does it do what it's supposed to in the av department?

I use Lookout and so far haven't noticed any big drain of the battery.

You guys should take a look at Avast mobile security. This is the best one IMO. More features and it's free. Plus it has a really nice anti-theft component, which for me is the most important part. (I don't care that much about virus scanning, firewalls, etc) The anti-theft service means you can control aspects of your phone remotely using SMS. So lock the phone, wipe it, get GPS fixes, etc ,etc. (and more) But the really cool part is, if you're device is rooted you can have the anti-theft component install itself in the /system partition which means it will survive a hard reset.

I haven't looked at Lookout in a while so maybe it has some of these features now, but if I recall the anti-theft features were not free and required a data connection. (not SMS)

Yeah. Avast is better. I just don't need all that extra crap. Plus I've always been with lookout

I used Lookout on my SGS1 and it worked well, but I don't use it on my S3. Anti-virus tools aren't so much my concern now (could change in the future), but anti-theft or "anti-lost" features seem more appropriate, so I use "Where's My Droid" now.

I have Lookout on my SG3 and have had not problems. Two nights in a row I forgot to put my phone on the charger and this morning it was still at 40% after 48 hours so it must not impact battery life.

I just ran out of my premium subscription though and at $30 I may just try something else.

I run Lookout. No issues with battery in my GS3 and my wife's. I ran it in my GS2 as well.

This is one of my many questions for this phone. Why do we need antivirus for it? Saying that we all have mini computers in our hands/pockets!
I also wanted to know if lookout was worth it. I will also look at avast as well. Blackberry had something called blackberry protect which was really good. It made a loud noise, even when the phone was on silent, when ever i logged into the pc to find my phone. I was looking for something similar to BP and i think i have found what i have been looking for.
I find the google play store annoying, get bored looking through all those apps.

Why you use the Lockout, If the SG3 have a Samsung Acount then you can use the Samsung Dive?

I have now plunged in and downloaded this app. It seems ok. I don't really understand the Antivirus but hey ho. The loud scream works and the antivirus says my phone is clean. But when I look for the location of my phone it doesn't even pick it up. Gps is on and nothing. But as a free app and non battery draining its a good one.
