Mine is 6% and 11%. Not sure if the bloatware is using the Android System or Android OS services. I am sure the bloatware usually have their own app in the battery usage list. Try to check syncing account. If you have many account that kept syncing real time, maybe that is the problem, it can go up that high. I agree with the above poster, it is rather high for the Android OS to use that much.

Re: [Q] How Much Battery Percentage Is Android OS Using On Your S
I am sitting at 17% and 6%. My biggest issue is Cell standby which is typically between 30% and 60%.

Mine is always extremely high.
I've narrowed it down to Alarm Manager that is in the Android OS.
I've uploaded screen shots to show it in BetterBatteryStats
I also noticed that my phone is constantly awake. It never sleeps according to battery stats.
It looks like lite flow app is showing 50k wake locks. Which is insane. Not sure if that's what causing the bad battery life though.

Re: [Q] How Much Battery Percentage Is Android OS Using On Your S3?
I just got the phone. My android OS has been topping the list at 50%-60%.
Rooted with stock rom.
Today I deleted a lot of the bloatware apps and services. Enabled Power Saving feature.
Ill give it a day or two, see if that made any difference.
edit: Correction, Android System is the one using up all the %.Last edited by vapore0n; 09-17-2012 at 09:52 AM.

Re: [Q] How Much Battery Percentage Is Android OS Using On Your S3?
So I bought this phone 2 days ago. Previous to this I had an LG Optimus, which I could get 2 days worth of battery before needing a charge. So I used that as a benchmark.
Arrive at work this morning and my battery is already in the high 80s, with it draining fast. Like 15% per hour. I decided to check the battery stats and showed that Android OS was using way too much CPU for the little time I used the phone.
I downloaded betterbatterystats to see what was happening. Enabled Power Saver feature with CPU throttling only.
Started to read around and a lot of people were complaining about services like gtalk, facebook, etc. Deleted a lot of bloat services that are included with the stock rom. This seems to have done it.
The battery curve was going down hill pretty fast. Android System using 50%+ of the CPU. (this is relative to all other services).
Now the battery isnt draining as fast as it was this morning, and CPU usage is starting to level out.
Ill give it a few days see how it works out. This morning this thing was eating 15% an hour. Now Its just doing about 5% an hour. - 09-17-2012, 02:29 PM #25
Re: [Q] How Much Battery Percentage Is Android OS Using On Your S3?
I had the same battery drain last week. Android OS was always around 60% and I would have to charge my phone three times a day.
I noticed it was a couple of apps that were trying to run in the background all the time, cat sounds soundboard and crackle. I deleted those two apps, allowed my battery to die completely and shut off, and charged my phone all night.
The next morning the phone turned on properly and the Android OS was back to normal and I go the entire day on a single charge.
That was a week ago. So far, so good (knocking on wood!!)
