Isn't the iphone head phone jack a standard one?

On my Samsung galaxy s3 running android 4.0

Because unlike ios, i keep my apps in app drawers, and not in infinite cluttered homescreens

I think he means being able to use the control the headphones have. I would like to know too if its possible. You know the double click on the control to skip songs.

Why? There are IEMs and ear buds that have better sound that you can buy. Yes they even have controls and the mic.. For stock buds the design is pretty good but sound wise they are still stock.

There are tons of headphones that have that feature and actually have great bass as well unlike most stock headphones

Yea I don't like the ear buds there annoying and sorry wasn't more specific mic and volume don't work unless I unplug and the other plug back in I'm trying to find a way but hopefully someone else can not that good with electronics

Apple headphones have some wires reversed making them incompatible with anything else. It is important that you check compatibility before buying any headphones. There is an app called headset control that might help.

i find iphone headphones crap tbh. think sony make the best out-the-box phone earbuds but they dont work on sammy
the s3 ones are actualy pretty good apart from the colour (ive stuck some old black skullcandy rubbers on mine so they look a bit better when hangin out the neck of my tshirt)
also i prefer earbuds with one wire longer so they can hang round your neck when not in use (like my sonys do grr)

Not quite. It has a chip in it that allows the connector to be reversible. The wiring for the connector is not the same on both sides on the port, so the chip on the cable figures out which direction to send the connections.

expensive?
i fancy some earbuds made of wood but was checkin out prices on amazon n got a shock lol.
£30 ($45?) is most id realisticly spend while unemployed i think

I use bt headphone,not so much for calls but more for music. I use the lg tone 700,i got music,calls,and s voice controls. Pretty sweet,they sound great too.
