No 3G or 4G help!

Hey guys I'm having a problem I can't connect to any service other than wifi... It shows I have bars but the 3g or 4G symbol doesn't show up at the top so I can't connect to Facebook or anything. For some reason I can still send and receive messages I think anybody know what the problem is...? I have tried restarting it shutting it off and taking the battery out.
