My Friend just got a Galaxy Note 2

As the owner of a S3, when I saw the Galaxy Note 2, I am now seriously considering trading up... "That pen is a Magic Pen I tell you, Magic"

I have to say it feel so much nicer in my hand than the S3... and far more solid... and the version of Jelly Bean is awesome....

I am so confused, don't know what to do...

it is pretty amazing man i watched the launch but imo the s3 is as big as a phone can get, any bigger and might aswell buy a tablet.
has your friend ran Quadrant benchmark app?
id love to see how it compares to s3

I feel exactly the same. Galaxy s3 is the perfect size. Any size bigger is too big unless you're the size of shaq

That's not what she sa...Oh wait we're talking about the Note II. Honestly If I can sell my S3 and Otterbox for a good price I'll jump ship to the Note II in a heartbeat. I always loved the form factor of the original note but the sexy looks of the S III. This is the perfect marriage here.

The Note 2 looks like a great phone. It is a little large on your hip. The GS3 is pretty much the limit to wear in a holster. For browsing and watching movies while traveling, it is great having my GS3 and Note 10.1 Tablet.

I would LOVE having the note 2 so I could read my school text books in pdf format. The S3 is great but the larger screen size of the Note 2 would be much better on my eyes! My only concern is where would I carry it?!? lol Can the note 2 ride in your jean/pant pocket without looking like a rectangular block shielding your thigh?!?! I wear my jeans/pants fitted, not skinny or loose/baggy.

It's virtually the same phone, body that is, that's a little bigger. To say it's more "solid" than the S3... I don't know...

Perhaps the only reason I personally would trade would be for the bigger screen. Then again it may just be too big.

The Note 2 definitely has a much better build quality, it is evident from the second you handle it.... But it is definitely not something you stick in you pocket.... but "horses for courses" in my opinion... the Jelly Bean version is far more advanced than what we got on the S3 though...

I don't follow. Maybe take your S3 out and hold them next to each other? I will when I see it in a store. They look pretty darn close.

The S3 build quality still blows me away. When it's out of its case of course...

the thing with size i think is that theres a fine line, a sweet spot and i think the s3/one x have found it.
id like to use a note2 for a week though and see

My friend in the UK ran quadrant and got well over 6500... It's really a beast. The only problem is the size. I've already found the Galaxy s3 to be somewhat larger than I actually need at times, don't see myself with the Note 2 and using it for calls regularly or taking it in and out of my jeans pocket. It's a really nice phablet though. 5.5" screen, quad-core with 2 gb ram, LTE and the new s-pen is very precise.

Would I recommend anyone trading in their GS3 to get it? No, you'd be a fool to do so, unless you want the extra screen real estate. It may be better than the Galaxy s3 at a lot of things, but it's incremental, I'd advise waiting, especially as the Android market is about to get increasing competition. We're seeing the HTC OneX+ coming, the LG Optimus G, the LG Google Nexus, and the HTC DLX. My personal preference would be the HTC DLX, which will be 5" Super LCD2, 1.5 to 2 gb RAM, HTC superb build quality, 12 megapixel camera, and the quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro with LTE which will most likely beat the Exynos Quad that is in the Note 2.

If you can't wait, by all means get it, but the Note 2 isn't the beast I thought it would be.

I have a Verizon s3 and I plan on using another lines upgrade to get the note and put it on my line and hand Down my gs3
