Re: Samsung HDTV converters
Sorry, I'm not even sure what you're talking about. This is not the 'Let's discuss anything made by Samsung' forum - this is the Samsung Galaxy S3 forum. If you're asking about a connector that will allow your S3 to connect via HDMI to a TV/monitor, then you're in the right place. If you're looking for information about Samsung HDTVs then this is the wrong place to look for that information.
If I've totally misunderstood what you're asking then I apologize in advance - how about providing a bit more information about what you're looking for?

is that micro-usb to full sise HDMI mate?
i think its disgusting how sammy have made it non universal. are there any cheaper 3rd party alternatives?
i miss my S/E Xperia Arc with the micro HDMI output. id just bought a quality adaptor and 4m extension when it got stolen lol. at least i can still use the male-female HDMI extension i suppose

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
It's full size, as far as i can see from the pics, description and reviews. Too bad it's so dang expensive...

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
The Samsung one is definitely full size. It works really well, although you may have to use an HDMI cable that's no longer than 6' - at least, when I tried the 12' cables that I had on my TV, it wouldn't work at all.
It you happen to have a PS/3, you can steal one of the dual-shock controllers, which are bluetooth, and use it to control games (and probably navigate around the device) - that's pretty cool.

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
thats strange about the cable length. my extension is 4m (about 12ft?)
youd think length wouldnt matter with a digital signal eh

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
I think it's definitely quality over length... I use 25' with no problems, but it's a heavy duty HDMI cable, about as thick as my pinky. You get what you pay for.

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
For the most part...yes
There are a few that do not let you use HDMI out.
HBO to Go, Samsung media hub are a couple that will not work.....But You Tube, Netflix, Comcast and videos in your gallery work just fine with it.
I have a small Projector that is suppose to be for work
, a set of small computer speakers..... and wallah instant portable movie theater

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
wow now thats cheap!!
ill be checkin that out
think my HDMI extension is a quality one but its not thick... id always thought thickness only mattered with like pure analogue voltages like speaker cables...

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
I was looking into getting to replace my PS3 as my media hub. Since I'm looking to get my Sammy smart TV, I won't be needing the WD Hub since I can directly connect my external HDD and play my movie files straight to the TV. Now, if I can play my movie files directly from my phone with this adapter....I can essentially take it (adapter) with me wherever I go and play movies at any ones home on their HDTV's without the need of a hub (WD TV Live, Apple TV, PS3, etc..)!!! Freakin AWESOME!!

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
Bekerbert, one more question for you before I buy this adapter....
...does the phone charge with this adapter when plugged in?? Not sure if the HDMI cable would provide voltage to charge the phone through the adapter.Thanked by: - 10-16-2012, 12:06 PM #17
Re: Samsung HDTV converters

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
lol
theres too much confusion with the s3 because the MHL to HDMI is wired differently from everything else apple-style
actualy id be wary of that s2 adaptor. is it proven to work on the s3?

Re: Samsung HDTV converters
yes
The thing that sucks is, your adapter must be plugged in to use. adapter plugged in to phone, micro usb and HDMI cable plugged in to adapter...it is a lot of wires
and it mirrors what is on your home screen, except for a couple of apps (HBO GO and Samsung media hub....only ones that i have found not to work, i am sure there are others)
what is nice about the MHL adapter compared to micro HDMI is....you can split sound if you want to, video out MHL and sound out of the headphone jack.Sent Via..Raven from Kings Landing
