SMS thread count?

I like to know how much I text certain people for whatever reason. I could have sworn I saw the counts at one point or another, but I can't seem to find it again. Or maybe I was looking at something completely different lol. Anyone have any info or apps that might do it?

And I'm not sure if it would make any difference, but I'm running Nova Launcher and using SwiftKey 3. Thanks in advance!

You want the little number of new.messages you have on the app icon? Or do you want to see how many texts you have with a person? I don't use stock but I know that most third party messaging apps have it. Like Handcent. Or go sms. Both are highly recommended

I want to see how many texts I have with a person. I'm thinking it may have been Handcent or Go that I noticed it on. I tried them both for a few days and didn't like either :/

GoSMS has it... I always leave it on I like to see how many times I texted someone lol

It's not next to their name? Hmmm I can't seem to find it in Settings but I have the text count next to each name though

ChompSMS has it as well. I just recently cleared out some of my messages but used to have 1k on some people.

In Handcent go to custom style, conversation list, then scroll down the list and click show messages counter.

I'm running stock jelly bean and use the stock messaging app. The only way I've found to see the count is to backup the apps with SMSRestore and then view it. It will show all the texts and text counts per person. Afterwards you can delete the back up if not needed.

i made the conversation date transparent so that probs made the count transparent too.
doesnt bother me anyway

I haven't come across a way to see that information in the stock Messaging app, but you can install Handcent SMS: and just use that feature. Just because you have Handcent installed it doesn't mean that you have to use it for actually sending/receiving messages. I turned off the notifications and pop-ups and only use a specific capability of Handcent; I do all my messaging using the stock app.
