I got a pro tip to help games like Dead Trigger and Shadowgun perform better on S3
I love these games but was having issues with them. Before this fix even on low settings the games were having framerate issues and had ghosting all over.. I found a fix for them thanks to another user I read. This fixes the issues and should help with other games.
Go to settings>developer options>turn on> check disable hardware overlays.
Both games now run like a dream. I am assuming other games may have this issue and this may resolve them as well.Thanked by 2: - 12-04-2012, 04:39 PM

Your doctor can't treat you unless he knows whether you have a headache or a concussion, and we can't help unless we know what the symptoms are and what you did before they occurred.

Go inside your settings. Look down for developer options. Check the tap to turn it on. Then scroll down and check the tab that says disable hardware overlays.

Does not effect performance. Don't know why it's not on by default

To answer all the questions.
I was having a major ghosting effect on both dead trigger and shadow gun dead zone. I know this phone should be easily able to handle these games but the games lagged and ghosted hard on my s3.
I then read a suggestion I put in the OP and both games perform beautifully now even at max settings. I don't know why and has not seem to effected my phone.
I am assuming maybe the cpu was doing the bulk of the work and this setting allows the gpu to share the load. Thats my assumption.
It is not jailbroken or hacked. Running stock firmware.Last edited by mdwright1032; 12-05-2012 at 07:23 PM.
