Can't get rid of pattern lock!
So I had my phone using the pattern lock and wanted to change it to just a swipe (really, there isn't anything on my phone all that important). It wouldn't get rid of the pattern, so I tried to change it back to a different security feature so I chose pin. Gave it a pin and now it asks for the pin and THEN the pattern. Help!

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
Did you make sure the Pattern is not turn on too? If you did, try rebooting the phone(battery is better)

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
Okay, I think I'm following you. I remember when I was messing around with patterns...I intentionally let someone try to guess my pattern, and after several attempts, it asked for a pin (kind've a backup pin, in case you've forgotten your pattern, or are too drunk to swype your pattern), and after entering the pin — it opened to the regular Lock screen. But after I re-locked the phone, it kept reverting back to pattern security — until I went to Settings > Security and lock screen > Lock screen options (I think; just turned my phone off)...where it lets you choose a different 'security' option — but in order to do so, I had to swype my pattern correctly TWICE.
That probably didn't help, but hope you get it sorted.

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
How crackable are these patterns?
Must be less secure than a 4 digit pin since theres only 9 "digits" but they all have to be next to each other.
Any mathematicians?
I prefer to use Smart Applock to lock just the apps that need security plus u can lock "settings" to prevent the average person from factory resetting
My pin is 5975 but when are you lot ever gona have my phone lol.... amazon shopping spree

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
Hmmm, how does '7' = a pattern swype?
I think I agree with you. You may be pretty. You may be cool. But 'psychic'????
Does that mean having the ability to read the minds of chic's !?!
Wow!
. . where do I sign-up to learn how to do that!
I've always heard and read that that was next to impossible for a man to learn. lol

Off topic a bit. But on the subject of reading minds. Some of my patients' parents feel that physicians are supposed to have that talent.

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
How customised is your phone?
Factory reset and if youre on wifi, all your apps will reinstall after resetting so its not that bad.
If u were rooted, u could save all the app settings but if u havent done much to your phone, reset, have wifi, sign in with your gmail and samsung and youll have all your numbers and apps.
Might aswell jst do it. I had to do it without backup the other week and it took not long to make ma phone MY phone again.
plus itl run faster

Re: Can't get rid of pattern lock!
Listen to this...
If you have a lockscreen lock/pattern, a thief will volley your pride n joy in the bin (trash) so wot i do is leave my call and txt functions unlocked (all my calls get forwarded to my gmail) so they have a snazzy phone to talk on but use "smart applock" to lock GMAIL, all browsers (they can be used to unstall smartapplock and rest of my tracker apps etc) lock playstore for same reason, lock any shop app with your card details.... best of all....... lock the Settings app so average dude cant factory reset phone.
Best tip.... use a PIN ul remember, dafty
