I use media serve app with my ps3 for the streaming movies from s3 to TV. (DLNA)

In the roku, I can only do Music and Photos via the roku android app. I still don't know how to do video, if it is possible.

You would have to dump your videos on to your PC, covert them with handbrake, and steam them through the chaneru channel. Not an easy process.

I believe this is an area where the boxee box excels over the roku.

Wow, that sounds complicated. Even with my Western Digital WDTV I can stream DLNA from the native media player simply by clicking the dlna button and selecting it from the list plays any file I have tried directly without needing to convert or do anythign else. Same for any other DLNA enabled device.

You don't have to do any of the stuff mentioned here. Plex has a Mac and PC program and your Roku has an app built in to download. All your Android devices have a Plex app to download from the Play Store.

Simply download the Plex program to your Mac or PC, direct it at your video or media folder. Once you dl the app on the Roku and your Android devices, they will automatically see your new Plex server. Easy. (Warning: depending hoe much video content you have it may take a couple of hours before your devices see all your videos.)

Roku's only play mp4 video files and don't support dnla. I've streamed media to my PS3/360 with the iMedia app. Try that with your WDTV.

False. MKV is also supported. Both MP4 & MKV utilize H.264 video codecs for highly compressed digital video, but allow for up to 1080p video. AVI and DivX, as well as other less popular video formats, are SD quality only. There is a reason Samsung and Apple can only view H.264 video codecs on stock apps.

Are you talking about iMediashare? If so yes it does work on my WDTV.
