How does this stuff work? Let's say you have a contract with sprint and are due for an upgrade. Can you just purchase a phone and activate it or how does it work?

Yeah you just walk in and tell them that but you have to activate it there.

Or u can open up a 2nd line if u have one available and if u not eligible for a upgrade yet.
