A major difference between 4.8 inches and 7 inches?
I have the chance to basically trade my HTC One S for a GS3, but I'm also getting a nexus 7 in the near future. Everything that I've heard about the GS3 is great, but I wonder if it'll be pointless to have a big phone when I'll have a 7 inch tablet for games, movies, web browsing, etc. Does anyone have these two devices (or similar sized ones) that can tell me if there's really that noticeable of a screen size difference?

I have both the GS3 and the Nexus 7 and you notice a difference between the two. It's nice playing movies or games on the GS3, but that extra screen space of the Nexus is nice. You could get by with one or the other, but they compliment each other depending on if you're home or on the road.

Re: A major difference between 4.8 inches and 7 inches?
I have a GS3 and a 10.1 inch Toshiba Thrive. I know u said you'll be getting a 7" tablet but I will comment in reference to the bigger screen aspect of your post. The screen size is definitely a plus on the tablet for viewing, reading and will allow you to not have to load up your phone with games that may take up a lot of space on your phone as the GS3 doesn't allow you to move apps to the SD card. 16 gigs should be enough space but I like to most things on my tablet to save whatever space I can. As far as the games go, the bigger screen is amazing for viewing the games but with the bigger device it isn't always so easy to play on. I hated playing "Need for Speed" on my tablet because I had to twist and turn my large tablet to drive the car in the game and controls on the screen were further apart than on a phone and I couldn't quite reach em that easy. Not so good game play but it looked way better in the bigger screen. I can't speak for all games because I didn't play them all but having a bigger screen is definitely a plus for the view and seeing smaller font. If you have the Money to get both, go for it. Can't go wrong with best of both worlds but I find sometimes when you have an awesome phone like the GS3, you may not use your tablet that often or vice versa if you fall in love more with the tablet. So to answer your question, Will a bigger screen phone be needed if you have a 7" tablet...My answer is no. One might make up for something the other is lacking but definitely not "Needed" in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies. I guess my initial concern was just that it might be redundant to own both devices, but I suppose that I may not know until I actually get my hands on a Nexus 7. My only other concern is the size of the gs3. the screen size is bordering on gargantuan in my mind (I own a HTC One S right now) and I already have smaller than average hands, so I guess I just have to figure out if that will be right for me or not.
