Nfc tag idea...

So, just a little note. I figured out a really cheap way (free) to get nfc tags. There are certain stores and gas stations that give what they call a "pit pass" it essentially is for a customer rewards system for everytime you buy something you get redeemable points. Well, you can ask for one at these stores (click here to find one near you [URL]http://www.pitpassrewards.com/pitpass.htm[URL]) and use any app like nfc task launcher to erase any info that is on it and use it as an nfc tag. I know the real tags aren't expensive but if someone is basically giving them to you for free...why not? And I do believe that if you leave what info is on it, then you can still use it as a rewards card....enjoy..

Well, its not breaking any laws and its just dual purpose on something they give you for free. I have one on my keys for the rewards and one in my car phone holder for opening my car dashboard....if its any consolation, I always buy something if im going to get a new one.

Depends on the store, its an anti theft or checkout system.
Just look around at barcodes on diffrent electronics. You might find somthing.

They should either be under barcode, inside dvd case, or somthing of the like.

If you see the magnetic strips, they are 99% proly not using nfc security

No thank you. I don't need to walk an old lady ACROSS the street. I don't see how your comment makes sense anyway. NFC tags are fairly cheap. You shouldn't have to abscond with tags from somewhere else.

You know I did some research but couldn't find anything specific about nfc and store alarm systems...seems they only work with certain frequencies and some use other types of radio or magnetic frequencies...

Yeah im guessin it was a radio thing with the Symbian coz we're talkin long ago before NFC or android n the tags (here anyway) havent changed.

If android has compass it shuld be able to set of magnit alarms but im not sure of that.

As for dvds I ams sure.
Im sorry but I trust my eyes over the internet any day. But as how yall are reading this on the net, I understand if you feel a similar way.

As for peeling off the stickers
I dont belive most people are theives, otherwise, if only a minority bought dvds and a majority stole them from the store thsts an over 50% product loss and would bankrupt any business, depending on size as to how long.
