    Default What's the "N" for?

I have just added the software update widget to one of my home screens. What is the "N" for. Just a silly little minor thing really, just wanted to know what it stood for anything? Screen shot provided

Just guessing here. Maybe it's telling you there are "N"ew updates.

What does this widget do, anyway? I haven't seen it before.

Thanks. The widget takes you straight to the update page instead of going into options etc etc.
When I go to update it says I am in a que. Wierd thing is I have already updated to 4.1.2.

What is the exact name of this program? I looked for "software update widget" in the Play store and didn't see anything.

I found it when I got the jellybean update. Press the apps icon and it will take you to all your apps. Then press widgets and scroll through them until you find it. I don't know why you can't find it. I don't think its a carrier specific thing as I have an unbranded s3.

I added that widget as well a while back and do NOT have the "N". I take it when you check for new updates there are none, correct?
    Since you have 4.1.2 already?

So that is saying you have an update, but have to wait in line for it. I get. "You currently have the most up to date software" or something like that.

Or you may be able to download it to the computer. I also did get an OTA issue like this from Telus and I used the computer Kias to download it.

Ok. My phone has now updated so the "N" has gone from the widget. Dunno what sort of update it was though. Only 21mb file.

May be a security patch or something like that....sometimes they fix issues with small updates.

You have to remember that the software is written with a lot of reverse translated KorEnglish. A lot of it doesn't make sense.
