Spam in notification area?
I've started having these little spam items occasionally popping up in the notification bar. Always accompanied by the red star icon. Any idea where this is coming from or how to block or get rid of it? I Don't see anything suspicious in the list of running apps/services.

Re: Spam in notification area?
Install an app called app brain ad detector
And then it will scan your phone so you will know which app is causing it
Then you can decide whether or no to uninstall it or just disable it's notifications using the settings in your app manager

Re: Spam in notification area?
An app you've installed is generating these. Sometimes when you click on it you'll see the app name at the top of the browser window that opens. There is an app that can sleuth and find the culprit:

Re: Spam in notification area?
Do you guys think this is harmful to the phone? Or is it just spam to get people to buy things?
Re: Spam in notification area?
Thanks, this app discovered the culprit. It was highlighted under "push notifications". Definitely don't want an app the engages in that BS.

Re: Spam in notification area?
You can generally find out what app is sending a notification by long-pressing the notification itself, then tapping the App info button that pops up.

Air push detector works also.
