Have changed my text message tone to a different one and now I get the new tone followed by the old

one. I changed it from the settings in the main menu and also in the settings on messaging. Me and technology not a marriage made in heaven.

I'm pretty sure that you were only supposed to change it in the Messaging app. But I don't know why you'd be getting two tones.

Are you using the stock messaging app, or a 3rd party one like Handcent? Make sure you don't have notifications set in both apps (if you have a second one installed).
