Ive got the common problem with the android system eating most of my battery. Ive read all the threads about renaming the file gsiff_daemon to gsiff_daemon.bak. Problem is, when I go into es explorer > settings> root access the option for mounting files to change to writeable is grayed out and I cant select it. Therefore I can change the file. Anyone know a way round this?

Are you rooted? This option requires a rooted device. If you're not, make sure you follow instructions for YOUR specific device an carrier. Following the procedure to root a Sprint phone on an AT&T phone (as just one example) could brick your device.

If you don't want to root, rebooting will generally cause the offending app to settle down, at least for a while. The GSIFF bug has only hit my phone once.
