So a week or so again my phone started telling me when I'd try to update the weather to my current location "Location services are not available. Please turn them on to use location based services." Google Now is also telling me "To continue using Good Now, you need to turn on Google's location service"

When I go to the settings link it givs me Location and Google search is checked. Even when I turn the GPS on it doesn't work. I've tried restarting the phone and it doesn't help. Any suggestions? I'm on T-Mobile in case that's relevant.

Try clearing the App Data from "Maps".
You'll then need to re-grant access to location services when prompted.
