    Default 387 MB SOFTWARE request to install on my new galaxy 3s.

    Seems excessive. Does anyone know what this is? Anyone else receive this? Thanks

    Is this a system update? app update? What carrier are you on?

    If, for example, you just bought an S3 that was still running ICS and it required an update to JB, that could possibly be that large? We would definitely need more info....

    EDIT: As an example, the JB update for Verizon users that was released in December of last year was 400+ MB.

    Thank you all for your replies. I just picked them up today. Why isn't there information online regarding what this update is and why so large? (My phone was only afew days old when itwas sent. ) I am on sprint network. Thank you all for information

    Since you're on Sprint, it's probably the update to 4.1.2. Look at Settings / About device. What are the last three digits of Baseband version and Build number?
