Default How can I access photos/contacts If my touchscreen isn't working.

So recently I went on vacation and unfortunately I dropped my phone in the ocean fully submerged for around 15 seconds.. Good news is the screen screen turns on but the touch doesn't work. I just got my replacement one yesturday and I have around 7 days to send the old one back. My question is there are important contacts and photos that weren't saved on the SIM or SD card. I tried using kies air Via USB but whenever I plug in a USB A message pops up on my phone saying high powered USB connected, It supplies power to the phone but I'm not sure if it'll transfer data. So is there any software out there that will be able to let me access my phones contact and photo information via usb?

Did you have your phone setup to sync with Google? If so, your contacts are easily accessed by going into your Gmail, click on the red Gmail near the upper left corner, and there is a tab for contacts in the drop down.. Not to make an example of the tough spot that you're in, but this is the reason why I back up all the data on my phone once a week.

This may prove totally useless, but have you tried plugging the phone into another USB port? The one you tried may be a powered port that is especially wired to allow charging. If you have others, like on my PC, that aren't powered, one of those might work better.

Try using a powered USB hub, one with a adapter to that plugs into an AC (mains) outlet. That will supply more power to the USB device than just plugging it into a PC USB socket

Just want to confirm that you don't have an SDCard, or that you weren't storing your photos there? That would have made all of your concerns moot, so you may want to consider it in the future.
Anyway, assuming that you get a valid connection with your PC, you should be able to access that content using Explorer.
If worse comes to worse I'm pretty sure that you could use ADB to pull content from the phone, but that would be a last resort.

himfo, you'll probably get more response if you start a new thread with subject line that describes your problem. I'm not familiar with MyPhonexplorer. Does the charging lightning bolt appear in the battery icon when you plug it in? If so, I'd say it's an issue with the software, not the phone. You might want to post your question here:

The subject line and subsequent description seem pretty concise - the OP has a phone with the touchscreen not working, and needs to get photos off of the internal storage. Someone recommended that alternate software for the PC.

OP, is your PC recognizing the phone? If you've never had it connected before you probably need to install the correct drivers.
When you first plug the phone in to the PC, do you see a prompt in the Notification bar? Typically the phone will prompt you to choose between configuration as a camera device or as a storage device - of course, if the touchscreen isn't working, you won't be able to choose, so it'll just default to one of the two (I think it's based on whatever you used the previous time, but I could be wrong there). That would at least be confirmation that the drivers are correctly installed on your PC.

    Meyer,
Lookout has a feature that allows a user to backup their pictures to their server - do you think he can just push that install from the Web and have it complete without any interaction on the phone?

    himfo,
You don't mention what carrier you're with - if you happen to be fortunate enough (in this case anyway) to be on Verizon, they enable a feature by default called Backup Assistant + - one of the things that it does automatically is to backup your pictures to the cloud. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case...

Edit: You may also want to just go up to the Google Play Store (on the Web) and install this app Lookout:
If it completes the install on your phone, you can use the Lookout website to manually do a bunch of stuff, and one of the things you may be able to do is to initiate a backup of your pictures.
