Default If I disable stock messaging, will it hurt anything?

I use Contacts+ for messaging and sometimes get double texts. If I disable the stock messaging, will that affect anything? Or is that a no no?

Nope, not all all. I use Handcent, and have the stock messaging app disabled. Well, first I guess you'd better make sure Contacts+ will act as the default messaging app. Worst case, if there's a problem, you can re-enable the stock app.

But do you really get double texts, or just double notifications? You can turn off notifications in the stock messaging app.

Well, I guess you're probably right. I'm getting double notified every time. I think I'll just disable it like you mentioned and see how that plays out. Thank you so much for the response.

I use GoSMS and that is exactly what I did, just turned off notifications for the stock SMS app.
