Quick question

I dont know if this is the right section

but does anyone know an app or way to put writing on the notification bar(where battery life and serive signal is shown)

What do you want to put there? Do you want it to be there permanently, or just show up briefly as with other notifications?

What would be the purpose of that?
If you want a name/message to be shown in case you lose the phone, the best place would be on the Lock screen (Settings -> Lock screen -> Owner information).

It would probably be possible with a rooted, de-odexed ROM and some custom theming, but I don't think there's any way to do it otherwise. But I agree with GSD, put your name and alternate phone # on the lockscreen.

That's what I did. It would be nice to make the text larger.

I'd guess that you could use an alternate font, but I haven't tried that. I don't know if you can use a different font on just the lock screen (vs. what's on the rest of the screens).
