My screen was shattered on my old Galaxy S3. I used my insurance to order a new replacement one from Asurion. It came, but the SIM card is not activated. All text messages fail, I do not have 4G, and whenever I try to call someone a voice operator comes up saying "Welcome to MetroPCS! What would you like to do?" I am kind of freaking out because I have to send the old phone back ASAP, but I can't do that if my new phone isn't working. A sheet that came with the phone said "Step 3: Follow activation instructions from a paper that is also contained in the box", but no such paper came with the phone. Also the receipt provided a contradictory statement saying "Your phone should have arrived activated. If not please visit a MetroPCS store." I am living in Chicago though and there is not a single MetroPCS store in the entire state of Illinois. if someone could help that would be great.

They will be able to perform the activation. I don't believe anyone here will be able to be of much assistance. Your phone should be able to call the MetroPCS 800 number for customer service, and you could have your IMEI written down to give to them. Tell them what happened and they'll be able to rectify it by phone for you. The device should not need to be present.

I logged into the link you gave me, but after signing in, the page that followed said "WE'RE SORRY. THIS REQUEST CANNOT BE COMPLETED. The page or file you requested does not exist."

hmmm weird okay do this dial *228 from your new phone and try to activate that way if not try one more time by logging in to metropcs.com
