Samsung S3 rolled over by car - recover hard drive?
My Galaxy S3 got rolled over yesterday. The screen is obliterated, and the rest of it doesn't look so hot. If I plug it into my computer via usb, the red light still comes on, and it does a short vibration every two seconds. (sounds like it is on life-support, which it is!) The SD card is gone because the phone fell off my car on the highway and I couldn't find it. But I know some stuff is still on the hard drive. Any chance of forcing it to start it usb mode or any other way to recover? When I connect it to computer it doesn't show up in "my computer". Obviously it is probably shot but I just hate the thought of losing all those pictures of my kids!

If you can't interact through the screen, and the computer doesn't recognize the phone, I doubt there's much you can do. You might want to search for "ADB" and try to access the phone via that method. I've not used it, so I can't really help. If your carrier has a store in your area that handles repairs, take the phone to them and see if they can recover anything.
And, given your history, look into Helium Backup (in the play store) when you get your next phone.
