Internal memory low

When I install an app a message pops up saying internal memory low and shows a mb left. I don't have 2gigs worth of apps. How much does the s3 allow for apps since you can't move to SD card?

That isn't really relevant, everything on the internal memory of the phone counts against your usage. You probably have too many files like music or videos. Just delete some things

this is about the highest I've ever had the memory. Most of the stuff is kept in the external SD card.

Very strange - I've had more than the 1.51GB of Apps that your Storage view shows. I have a 32GB version phone but I can't believe that makes any difference.

Have you tried booting into Recovery mode and clearing the cache? That's the only thing I can think of.

This might be a bug on Google Play Services.
I got the same pop up messages (when installing/updating apps) on my HTC phone and on my Sony tablet ... and both have enough free space on app storage.

Found the culprit ... it's my favorite file manager ES File Explorer

Catched it with the app Notification History, ES's notification was "Internal StorageSpace left: 459.37 MB", identical with a update's pop up notification.
