Help pls. Android newbie. Syncing issues

Hey
When connecting my s3 all my music automatically copies onto my pc & vice versa. How do I stop this so I can select what I sync on & off my phone?

I am guessing this is a PC setting, not an Android issue. Whenever I connect any of my Androids to my PC there is no auto transferring.

Are you using the Kies software whenever you connect the phone to your computer? I believe that has an option to sync music (and pictures and videos).

Im not using any software. I just connect the phone to my pc with the usb cord & it syncs automatically.

Well, beats me - I've never heard of a phone doing that without 3rd party software intervention, and that pretty much on the computer side.

I am inclined to believe it is a Windows setting. How to reset it, I am not sure.
