Why isn't my Samsung Galaxy S3 charging properly?

Samsung Galaxy S3 not charging properly

I recently purchased my new samsung galaxy s3 a few months ago in march. It has been working perfectly till this month. When i go to bed at 11pm i would put it on charge and when i wake up at 7am it’s not fully charged. It has happened around 6 or 7 times now. Last night with the same times i woke up today and it was at 56% only. I’ve never changed batteries. Someone help please!

If the phone was off when it was charging, wither the charger is intermittent, the battery is going bad or the microUSB connector has a bad connection inside the phone.

If it was on when it was being charged, some app could have been drawing enough current to prevent the battery from getting fully charged. (The charge going into the battery is the current coming from the charger minus the current being used by the phone. When the phone is off it draws so little current that, for all practical purposes, it can be considered 0.)
