How can I get my Galaxy S3 off of the boot screen?

Galaxy S3 stuck on boot screen

Hi there this concerns my Galaxy S3. When I was using it the other day it suddenly just froze, and after I removed and reinserted the battery it is stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I1905" screen (not the Samsung logo screen). The screen keeps turning on and off at 5 second intervals. I can access download mode (vol down+home+power) but not recovery mode (vol up+home+power), and I have removed both my SIM card and SD card. I have not rooted the device. Any advice regarding this situation?
