My pictures won't show up and instead show a black background with a gray box on Galaxy

when I open my gallery for my Galaxy s3, the regular photos appear fine but the one I downloaded from iFunny or screenshoted won't show up. Instead, a black background shows up with a gray box in the middle and there is a little lightning bolt on the box.

Welcome to Android Central! Are the photos downloaded to Internal Storage or the microSD card? If the latter, it might be a sign that the card is corrupted. What file format are the images in?
