Why does my S3 battery drain over night?

My S3 battery drain over night

I have a S3 and the battery drain over night. Always between 11pm and 5-6AM not every day but between 1-2 time by week to 1 by few weeks at best. It can go from 70% to 0% easy. Most of the time i woke up and the cell is dead.

I use Battery saver to turn off the cell service during night without real change.

I am not sync i am aware off (i did trash the facebook app on the cell) and i have no GPS or wifi on.

I think a process drain the battery... Do you have any app who can monitor the battery usage even if the drain drain dry?

Welcome to AC.

What do your battery usage stats indicate after such a discharge?
If Android OS or similar is high on the list, try using the Wakelock Detector app.

On the top this is always System android and IU syst.

I did install wakelock will tell you the result.

AC Question, If that doesn't work I would suggest checking Facebook app if you have it installed. I had a big issue with mine as it would run in the background but nothing would be recording it. Long and short of it is I had to disable Facebook and force close it a lot. It has fixed itself now but just another thought! good luck!

Sorry for the delay but did have difficulty to make wakelock work on the 4.4 version of android and did have to wait for the bug to happen.

I am not sure about what could drain the battery. Do you have idea?

For facebook i did remove the app long time ago because of the problem you discribe.
