Audio cuts out with or without headphones

Hey there
my Samsung Galaxy S3 regardless of the headphones or speakers being plugged in will suddenly outputting audio.
You can see the player continuing to play the track but no audio can be heard. It will cut in and out. Any suggestions?

If it only happens when you're using the headphone port of your phone it might be a hardware issue (loose contacts, etc.). Does it happen if you use Bluetooth headphones too? What about your phone's internal speaker?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen when using other music apps? Does it happen on any music track, or only certain ones? Are the music files saved to Internal Storage or the microSD card?
