Baffling lack of sound

Hi, seems a simple problem I should be able to fix in settings, but when I use the timer it does not make any ringing or buzzing sound when the timer expires.

On my S4 when I go to timer-->Settings there's an option for the alarm tone and the volume. Do you have a tone set and have the volume set a level that you could hear it?

Hi Halcyon, thanks for the reply. I'm still a little confused though, I don't seem to have an app called "Timer" only one called "Clock" and it has no way to access settings that I am able to find.

ah I figured it out. Blocking Mode was inexplicably set by default so it would not make a sound.
