Huh Crap I got one last question... :-/
When I root my phone how will I be able to upgrade to a new Android firmware? I usually get mine from AT&T so will I still be able to update my firmware or should I just not update at all?

You won't be able to take OTAs. Modified aka rooted devices don't receive them.

So would that mean I need to unlock the bootloader and download the latest android rom?

Yeah, you can do that if you want to keep up to date. There are TouchWiz-based ROMs like Hyperdrive or Infamous, and also AOSP-based ROMs like Slim or CyanogenMod

TouchWiz? AOSP? sorry but I am new to this :p
Edit: Nvm I just googled it but what would you recommend AOSP or TouchWiz?
Edit: I just read an article about AT&T's s4 active bootloader being locked down pretty good and I haven't found any solution...
Edit: read more and apparently there is no root for 4.3 active yet

Sorry for the late reply. Been really busy with schoolwork.
I was going to suggest this to answer your first question: http://www.androidcentral.com/dictionary
I choose AOSP over TW.
As far as root, I'm not up to date on the S4A, but the other phones on 4.3 have root methods.
