NFC function problem

Hey forum, this is my first time asking a question on a forum, I'm usually just a reader. I'm trying to learn everything about the Near Field Comunication or NFC function of my S4 Active, so any information would be great. My question is my phone has the NFC function and I bought a Keydex NFC ring but it isn't reading it. I have seen on Amazon replacement batteries that have NFC. Is this what the phone needs to work? Does my OEM battery not have NFC? If not, is it getting in the way of the phone reading the ring? Thank you for your time just reading this thing and any help you can give.

The stock battery should have NFC. Are you sure you have it turned on? Look for a large 'N' at the top of the screen.

Thank you for the reply. This "N" is it in the app or the settings page? The ring was only $7 and I need to learn Chinese for support and app. I orderd a $26 ring to increase my luck. I will look for "N" and check batt for NFC, it should say on it. See ya
