Serious question and needing advice

I have an S4 Mini model SCH-I435 Serranoltelra. Verizon CDMA phone and want to put lollipop on it. I have installed a custom rom from xda-developers website by TeamUB. I can get everything to work except there is no sound what so ever, multimedia or phone and no mic. Would love to have someone work with me on resolving this problem. Any ideas guys? Microphone (and other such problems) with the nightly CM builds for my model GT-I9190 have been experienced by others who have found a fix: Disable Google Voice

Google Voice is not in the minimal G-apps package I've selected. This may explain why I have no such problems.

I just happen to remember that I installed the rom first without gapps and still had no sound or mic. Back to the drawing board.....

Have run across more of my fellow CM users who say ANYthing that uses microphone initiates the problem. Some found success by getting rid of OK Google. Another couple of tricks to try are here:

Most ROMs already contain gapps. When you flash gapps package, it (removes and) replaces them with only the gapps in your chosen package.

No go on sound issue with TeamUB lollipop rom on SCH-I435 Galaxy S4 mini. Tried all fixed recommended and still no sound or mic.
